Government has revised the National Solar Mission target of Grid connected solar power projects from twenty thousand mega watts to one lakh mega watt by 2022. <br/><br/>Power Minister Piyush Goyal informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply today. He said, the revised National Solar Mission is under implementation. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal stated that it is planned to achieve the revised target of one lakh mega watts by setting up distributed Rooftop Solar Projects and Medium and Large Scale Solar Projects.<br/><br/>The Minister further stated that the exemption of custom and excise duty is already applicable for several input raw materials for manufacturing of solar power devices. This will helps to reduce the cost solar power.
