The Centre plans to connect the Indian Railways with Asian countries for the effective implementation of Narendra Modi government's Act East Policy. This was stated by the Minister of State for Railways Minister Rajen Gohain at the flagging-off ceremony of the Agartala-Bengaluru Cant Hamsafar Express at the Agartala railway station yesterday. <br/><br/>He said the North Eastern Region is being connected with neighbouring Bangladesh through the Agartala-Akhaura rail line, and the survey is underway in Manipur for extension of railways up to Moreh on the India-Myanmar border. Our correspondent has filed this report on Hamsafar express:<br/><br/>The Humsafar Express having 3 tier AC with luxurious facilities will leave Agartala on every Tuesday and will arrive Bangalore Cantonment on every Thursday. In the reverse direction, the train will leave Bangalore Cantonment on every Friday and will arrive Agartala on every Monday. There will be around 28 stoppages along the route. The regular service of the train will begin from 9th January. The train will cover 3542 km. distance in 64 hours. <br/>
