Government introduces DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill 2018 in Lok Sabha

<span style="color: #222222;">The government today introduced DNA Technology (Use and Application) Regulation Bill 2018 in the Lok Sabha. The Bill seeks to provide regulation for the use and application of DNA Technology for establishing the identity of certain categories of persons including the victims, offenders, suspects, under trials, missing persons and others. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Introducing the Bill, Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan rejected the apprehension of Congress member Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary that the Bill has compromised with the privacy issue. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said the Bill has been scrutinized by experts several times in the previous years. He said a regulation for the collection of DNA and DNA data is the need of the hour.</span><br />''  <br />
