Government giving thrust on building accident free roads: Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping Nitin Gadkari has said that Government has given thrust on building accident free roads. <br/><br/>He was speaking after laying foundation stone of four laning of 43 km. of NH 17 for North Goa in Panaji today. The cost of the project is Rs 2237 crores and it will be done in two packages. One more such project with two packages is in offing for South Goa, Mr Gadkari added.<br/><br/>Mumbai – Goa waterway project is under consideration and the Government has focused on developing waterways and also water ports, Minister added further. <br/><br/>Water transport has proved to be affordable and logistically viable too in advanced countries, Mr Gadkari said. Goa as a beautiful tourism destination must adhere to pollution free environment and alternatives like bio diesel must be developed, he advised.
