<span style="color: #222222;">The Finance Ministry has said, strategic disinvestment transactions have been completed in nine cases and five Central Public Sector Enterprises are under consideration for closure. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad said, the government follows a policy of disinvestment through strategic disinvestment and minority stake sale. He said, the Centre has given in-principle approval for strategic disinvestment of 36 cases since 2016. Out of the 36 cases, 33 cases are being handled by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) and three cases are being handled by the respective Ministry or Department. The Minister denied that the government has made any survey report to merge BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited )with other oil PSUs into a single entity. He however said, it has accorded in-principle approval for strategic disinvestment of BPCL in 2019.</span><br />
