Government decides to implement Employees' State Insurance Scheme across the country by end of this year

The government has decided that the Employees' State Insurance, ESI Scheme will be implemented in the entire country by the end of this year. Presently, ESI Scheme is fully implemented in 443 districts and partially implemented in 153 districts, whereas 148 districts are not covered under ESI Scheme. The medical care services will be provided through establishing new Dispensary cum Branch Office, by tie-up with Hospitals of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The decision has been taken during the 188th meeting of ESI Corporation under the Chairmanship of Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav today.<br />'' <br />'' ESI Corporation has decided to set up 23 new 100 bedded hospitals across the country. Besides these Hospitals, five doctors' dispensaries at 62 places will also be opened. These hospitals and dispensaries will ensure the delivery of quality medical care service to the injured workers and their dependents.<br />'' <br />'' Speaking on the occasion, Bhupendra Yadav informed that six thousand four hundred vacancies for different posts have been advertised by ESIC in the last eight months including more than two thousand Doctors and Teaching faculty. He said, during the meeting, it was decided that Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Departments at three ESIC Medical College and Hospitals at Sanathnagar, Faridabad, and Chennai will be established. Mr. Yadav said, the decision was also taken to upgrade the existing two hundred bedded ESIC Hospital in Pune to five hundred bedded Hospital. The upgradation of this Hospital will benefit seven Lakh Workers and their family members in Pune.<br />'' <br />'' The ESICorporation has decided to implement the ESI scheme in the whole country by theend of this year. It also decided to set up 23 new hospitals with 100 beds eachand 62 dispensaries across the country. The Corporation in its 188th boardmeeting held under the Chairmanship of Union Labour and Employment MinisterBhupender Yadav in Hyderabad today has taken several significant decisions tostep up medical care and service delivery mechanisms across the country. Thecorporation has also decided to start Certificate Courses in its MedicalColleges for Health Care Link Workers. The meeting also decided to providebeneficiaries of the ESI Scheme to get cashless Medical Care Services throughAyushman Bharat PMJAY empanelled Hospitals in the areas where ESIC's own HealthCare Facilities are limited. The minister informed that advertisements havebeen issued to fill about 6400 vacancies for different posts in the last eightmonths. He further said ESI medical colleges in Sanath Nagar, Faridabad andChennai will be sanctioned by Radiation Oncology and Nuclear MedicineDepartments. Besides, the Pune ESI hospital will be upgraded to 500mbed fromthe current 200 beds. <br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, Union Minister of State  Science and Technology, Earth Sciences and MoS PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that  Agnipath is a scheme that has been brought in the interest of the unemployed youth of the country. The scheme is to provide them an opportunity to serve the nation and get employment.
