The government today said that it is against the weaponisation of outer space and supports international efforts to reinforce the safety of space based assets. This was stated by Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. <br/><br/>He said that India is party to all major international treaties relating to outer space. He said the government believes that this international legal framework needs to be strengthened to enhance the security of space assets for all users and to prevent the weaponisation of outer space.
