In West Bengal,The Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha, swept the poll in the first election held for the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration Sabha bagging all the 45 seats in Darjeeling hills. The morcha candidates declared victorious in the seats.In the 17 seats the election to which was held on 29 July,the counting of votes was taken up today,in all in all the seats Morcha candidates emerged victorious-Recalled,28 candidates of the Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha were declared winner uncontested after the last date of withdrawl of candidature on 12th July.Counting was held under heavy security cover which ened peacefully today. The Gorkha Jana Mukti Morcha supporters tookout victory processions with singing and dancing in Darjeeling,Kurseong and in Kalimpong with the winning candidates today rejoicing party’s victory in the first election held for Gorkhaland Territorial Administration. On the other hand the district administration is engaged in preparation for swearing in ceremony for newly elected members of the GTA which is to be held on 4th August in Darjeeling.West Bengal Governor Mr. M.K.Narayanan is expected to administere the oath of office to the newly elected member to GTA.The Chief Minister of West Bengal Miss Mamata Banerjee also likely to be present on the swearing in ceremony.
