Gopi T & Kheta Ram qualify for Rio Olympics Marathon race

India's Gopi T and Kheta Ram have qualified for the Rio Olympics by finishing second and third respectively, among the Indian runners in the Mumbai Marathon. Gopi who ended at 11th position overall, took 2 hours:16 minutes and :15 seconds, while Ram finishing 15th ended in 2 hours 17minutes and 23 seconds. The cut-off mark to qualify for Marathon in Olympics is two hours and 19 minutes for men. Among Indian women, Sudha Singh, finishing seventh overall, grabbed the top spot in the race clocking a timing of 2 hours 39 minutes and 28 seconds.. The prestigious Mumbai Marathon 2016 was flagged of by the Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao. The half marathon kicked off earlier in morning from Bandra Worli Sea link. According to the organizers, more than 40,000 runners from different corners of the world took part in the 13th edition of Mumbai Marathon..
