Gopal Rai assures all precautions to counter avian influenza in Delhi

Delhi government today said all precautionary measures are being taken to end the possible threat of avian influenza or Bird flu in the national capital. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Delhi Minister for Development Gopal Rai said, his department has sent 50 samples from various bird sanctuaries and zoo in Delhi to Jalandhar laboratory for analysis. He said, the report is expected by this Saturday. <br/><br/>Mr Rai said, 23 member co-ordination committee has been setup under the chairmanship of Development commissioner Sandeep Kumar. He said, there is a report of death of eight more birds at different places in the city. <br/><br/>The Minister said, Delhi Deer Park has also been closed along with Delhi Zoo. Mr Rai said, the city government has written a letter to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh government for co-operation in this regard.
