Good Governance Day is being observed today on the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Several functions are being organized across the country to mark the day. <br/><br/>On the occasion, government has made the announcement for simplification of pensioners form. It will now be available in single page. The levels of information has also been reduced. <br/><br/>Talking to media persons in New Delhi, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh said the government has taken steps to ensure that the tax payers' money reaches them easily in required shape and measure in time. <br/><br/>Department of Personnel and Training has taken many concrete steps to bring in citizen centricity to the core of all its delivery mechanisms. The Minister said, there is a need to have a critical look at the current procedures and forms in use in various Departments and Ministries in the government. <br/><br/>He said, there is a need to eliminate layers of decision making for adding speed to the disposal mechanism. He also stressed to specify one page forms seeking essential information for upholding the National Centre for Good Governance, an organisation with DoPT, is providing necessary direction, guidance and capacity building inputs on Governance and management issues to the Central and State Government and their organisations.<br/><br/>Bharatiya Janata Party MPs and party office bearers are also visiting different areas to highlight the work done by the NDA Government for the betterment of the poor and youth of the country.
