Taking a strong note of Gonda CMO abduction episode, Uttar Pradesh government has transferred Chief Medical Officer Dr SP Singh, District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police and Chief Development Officer of the district with immediate effect. It may be recalled that Minister of state for Revenue and Reahabilitation Vinod Singh alias Pandit Singh had reportedly abducted the CMO because of his unhappiness over non-inclusion of his nominees in the list of doctors recruited on contract. The recriutment was made by the district Health department under National Rural Health Mission NRHM. Singh is the first Minister who has been forced to resign from the Akhilesh Yadav Ministry after being involved in the alleged criminal act.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Roshan Jackob and Munnilal Pandey have been appointed as new DM and CDO of Gonda ,while Navneet Rana has replaced the out going police chief of the district. The charge of CMO has been given to the senior most Deputy CMO of Gonda. A spokesperson told in Lucknow today that the investigation of the matter has been handed over to commissioner of Lucknow Sanjeev Mittal.
