GoM to consider amending existing laws to deal with honour killings

<br/>The government has decided to set up a Group of Ministers to consider amendments in the existing laws to deal with the honour killings across the country. <br/><br/>The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. <br/><br/>Briefing media later, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said the views of the state governments will also be taken on board on the issue. She said the government wants to bring in the amendments in the IPC and CRPC to bring the honour killings effectively under the law of the land.
