GoM on Telangana asks Central & State officials to make a report on AP bifurcation issue

The Group of Ministers – GoM constituted to look into the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh today discussed in detail concerning sharing of river water, power, distribution of assets and demarcating of boundaries at its second meeting in New Delhi.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said, the GoM discussed its terms of reference in detail.

He said, Secretaries of concerned departments have been asked to sit together with officials of Andhra Pradesh government and make detailed reports on bifurcation. Shinde said, about 2,000 e-mails have been received on bifurcation of the State and all these are being scrutinised.
Union Ministers P.Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Veerappa Moily , Jairam Ramesh and V. Narayanasamy attended the meeting.

The next meeting of the GoM will be held 7th of next month.
The Group of Ministers- GoM on Telangana fixed November 5 as the last day for receiving suggestions on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh from political parties, public representatives and individuals.

An official release said, the GoM headed by Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde in its meeting in New Delhi, decided that more time should be given to them to send their suggestions pertaining to the specific terms of reference of the GoM.

The suggestions can be sent to the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs or by post to the irector (CS-II), Centre-State Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, 5th Floor, B-Wing, NDCC-II Building, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi.
