GOM on Bhopal gas disaster will look at all issues in detail, says Soni

<br/>Ahead of the meeting of the GOM on Bhopal Gas disaster on Friday, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni has expressed the hope that all issues of concern will be addressed on the priority basis at the meeting.<br/><br/>Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, Mrs Soni said that the GOM will look at the all issues in detail and more specifically the issue of reaching out to the people who have not got adequate compensation so far. She said that the GOM has various items under its preview and sufficient attention will be paid to each one of them.<br/><br/>The Prime Minister had earlier directed the GOM headed by the Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram to assess the options and remedies available to the government on various issues involved and get back to the cabinet within 10 days. The GOM was reconstituted after the verdict of a Court in Bhopal on the Bhopal Gas disaster.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent says, the verdict had come in for a lot of criticism and the controversy over who allowed the former CEO of the Union Carbide Warren Anderson to leave the country have been raging since then.
