The Golden Peacock Awards for excellence in business in different sectors would be presented at the ongoing Global Convention on Business Excellence in Dubai today. The awards based on specified criteria and decided by an elite jury are presented by the Institute of Directors. In the National Category, the award in the automobile sector would be presented to Mahindra and Mahindra farm division while in the power sector it has gone to the Reliance Infrastructure. In the IT sector CMC Limited gets the top honour while in the transportation sector Dubai based DP World is the winner. In the banking services sector Punjab National Bank will get the top honour while in the asset management Birla Sun Life has been chosen the winner. In the insurance sector ICICI Lombard is the winner. In the Global category, Mumbai based WNS Global Services Ltd. gets the top honour in BPO sector while Dubai based QBG Services gets the award for Facility Management Services. Amity Education bags the award in the education sector while Abbott Healthcare is the winner in healthcare sector. The awards will be presented later this afternoon in Dubai at the Global Convention on Business Excellence in Dubai which was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ajit Singh yesterday. The Vice President of the IOD, Pradeep Chaturvedi told AIR that the IOD awards honour the best in the field of business and industry who by their innovation and enterprenuership have served the interest of the larger public good.
