In the 4th edition of the Short Film Center Award ceremony being held at the 42nd International Film Festival of India at Panaji in Goa, today, the “Golden Lamp Tree Award” for best Short Film in International Competition was won by Smita Bhide for her film ‘Another Planet’.
The film presents a fresh and different vision of child poverty in India. The award carries a citation, a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 4 Lakh.
The “Silver Lamp Tree Award” has gone to the film ‘Crazy Beats Strong Everytime’, directed by US based Moon Molson. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.3 Lacs, a trophy and a citation.
The “Special Jury Prize” in the same category has gone to Mumbai based director Ashish Pandey for his 15-mins long film – ‘Open Doors’.
The Vasudha Award for the best film on Environmental Issues was bagged by K.R. Manoj for his film ‘A Pestering Journey’.
