In the 4th edition of the Short Film Center Award ceremony being held at the 42nd International Film Festival of India at Panaji in Goa, on Thursday , the “Golden Lamp Tree Award” for best Short Film in International Competition was won by Smita Bhide for her film ‘Another Planet’.
The film presents a fresh and different vision of child poverty in India. The award carries a citation, a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 4 Lakh.
The “Silver Lamp Tree Award” has gone to the film ‘Crazy Beats Strong Everytime’, directed by US based Moon Molson. The award carries a cash prize of Rs.3 Lacs, a trophy and a citation.
The “Special Jury Prize” in the same category has gone to Mumbai based director Ashish Pandey for his 15-mins long film – ‘Open Doors’.
The Vasudha Award for the best film on Environmental Issues was bagged by K.R. Manoj for his film ‘A Pestering Journey’.
