Gold rose 50 rupees, to 30,510 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, today, on buying by stockists for the ongoing wedding season. Silver jumped 950 rupees, to 45,100 rupees per kilo, on increased offtake by industrial units and coin-makers. Silver coins spurted 1,000 rupees, to 87,000 rupees for buying 100 pieces on upsurge in marriage season demand. Overseas, gold rose marginally, to 1,258 dollars an ounce. But silver gained 0.7 per cent, to 20.03 dollars an ounce.
