Today, gold was trading higher at the Multi Commodity Exchange for February contracts. The precious metal was up 148 rupees to trade at 62,780 rupees per ten gram. Silver futures for March contracts were down 110 rupees to trade at 72,235 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.

In the global markets, gold was trading up at 2,056 dollars and 20 cents per ounce at COMEX. Silver was trading up at 23 dollars and 23 cents per ounce in the intra-day trade when reports last came in.
