Silver rose for the third consecutive day, adding 1,500 rupees, to 59,500 rupees per kilo.In the international market, spot gold hit a new peak above 1,609 dollars an ounce, on heightened concerns about the debt crisis in Europe, and as time grew short for raising the US debt ceiling. Gold is up 13 percent so far, this year.
