Today, gold was trading higher at the Multi Commodity Exchange for February contracts. The precious metal was up 139 rupees to trade at 61,644 rupees per ten gram. Silver futures for March contracts was down 10 rupees to trade at 71,446 rupees per kilogram when reports last came in.

In the global markets, gold was trading up at 2,014 dollars and 10 cents per ounce at COMEX. Silver was trading up at 22 dollars and 74 cents per ounce in the intra-day trade when reports last came in.
