Gold gained 300 rupees, to an all-time high of 21,240 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, on Thursday, on brisk buying by jewellers for the ongoing marriage season. Silver zoomed 1,200 rupees, to cross the magical 50,000 rupees per kilo mark, at a record 50,500 rupees per kilo. In the global markets, gold jumped 12.70 dollars, to 1,412 dollars an ounce. Gold rose on concerns that tensions in Libya and West Asia, and high inflation, will boost demand for the precious metal as a safe haven. Silver added 1.5 per cent, to 33.54 dollars an ounce, its highest level in 31 years.
