Gold, silver prices fall on sluggish demand

Gold prices today dropped 50 rupees to 35,720 rupees per 10 gram in the national capital, owing to sluggish demand from jewellers.

Silver also ended lower by 100 rupees to 41,900 rupees per kg due to reduced offtake by industrial units and coin makers.

Globally, spot gold traded flat at 1,419 US dollars and 40 cents an ounce, while silver was marginally trading lower at 16 dollars and 44 cents an ounce in New York.
