Gold prices today crossed the crucial level of 17,000 rupees per 10 gram in the bullion market in New Delhi. Frantic buying by jewelers for the ongoing marriage season and firming of global trend led to spurt in Gold prices by 170 rupees per 10 gram. Silver rose by 220 rupees to touch 27,720 rupees per kilogram.The price of the yellow metal has been on upward march ever since the Reserve Bank of India purchased 200 tons of gold from the International Monetary Fund early this month.
