Gold rose for the third straight day, gaining 35 rupees, to 27,960 rupees per ten grams at Delhi&apos;s bullion market, today, on sustained buying by stockiest, in line with a firm global trend. Silver strengthened 475 rupees, to 53,200 rupees per kilo. In the global markets, gold advanced 1.5 per cent, to a five-week high of 1,656 dollars an ounce, on mounting speculation that China will ease monetary policy. The dollar&apos;s decline also boosted the appeal of the precious metal as an alternative asset.
