Gold prices today rose Rs. 40 per 10 gram at Multi Commodity Exchange for April contracts in sync with gains in the international markets.
 
Gold futures was around Rs. 44,880 per ten gram.
 
Silver futures also rose Rs. 210 to trade around Rs. 67,440 per kilogram for May contracts.
 
In global markets, gold was trading up at 1,727 dollars and 20 cents per ounce at the New York Mercantile Exchange and silver gained to 26 dollars and 20 cents per ounce.
