Gold prices today rose by 635 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for April contracts. The precious metal was trading at around 56785 rupees per 10 gram. Silver was also up by 976 rupees to trade around 63,866 rupees per kilogram for May Contracts when reports last came in.

In the global markets, gold was trading up at 1,887 dollars and 80 cents per ounce at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Silver was trading up at 20 dollars 85 cents per ounce in intra-day trade.
