Gold prices increase Rs 37, to trade at Rs 59,897/10 gram

Gold prices today rose 37 rupees at Multi Commodity Exchange for June contracts. The precious metal was trading at 59,897 rupees per 10 grams. On the other hand, silver fell 179 rupees to trade at 70,907 rupees per kilogram for July Contracts when reports last came in.
 
In the global markets, gold was trading down at 1,980 dollars and 30 cents per ounce at the New York Mercantile Exchange while silver was down to trade around 23 dollars and 13 cents per ounce in intra-day trade.
