Gold prices at all time high

Gold prices on Wednesday touched a new peak at 18,400 Rupees per ten gram in the national capital gaining Rupees 430 in the opening trade on heavy buying for the marriage season amid firming global cues. The precious metal, which normally moves in tandem with international trend, remained on an uptrend and set record high levels in each session. Marketmen said the current rally was backed as gold prices shot up to 1,215.85 dollar an ounce in Asian trade as investors stepped up purchases to protect their wealth against a slumping dollar.
