Gold hits an all time high; reaches 29,140

Gold gained 200 rupees, to hit an all-time high of 29,140 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, today, on marriage season demand, and as the precious metal rallied in the overseas markets. Silver coins shot up 2,500 rupees, to a record high of 68,000 rupees for buying 100 pieces. Silver ready gained 650 rupees, to 58,000 rupees per kilo.Overseas, gold rose 0.7 per cent, to a seven-week high of 1,803 dollars an ounce, on concerns that European leaders will be unable to tame the region's sovereign-debt crisis. Silver climbed 0.5 per cent, to 35.13 dollars an ounce.
