Gold surged 480 rupees, to a two-week high of 28,680 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, today, to post its second biggest single-day gain this year, on rising demand from jewellers and stockists, and a firm global trend. Silver spurted 800 rupees, to 46,000 rupees per kilo, on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers. Overseas, gold rose 0.2 per cent, to a nearly four-month high of 1,339 dollars an ounce.
