Snapping a three-day losing streak, gold rose 225 rupees, to 28,465 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market, today, on emergence of buying for the upcoming marriage season, amid a firm global trend. Silver gained 800 rupees, to 65,000 rupees per kilo. In the global markets, gold rose 0.6 per cent, to 1,845 dollars an ounce, as concerns about Europe's sovereign-debt crisis spurred demand for the precious metal as an alternative investment.
