Gold prices spurted 408 rupees, to 30,852 rupees per ten grams in futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, today. Gold futures rose after the precious metal climbed above 1,300 dollars an ounce in the global markets. The US central bank chief, Janet Yellen's indication that US interest rates may stay lower for longer raised the appeal of gold.
