Gold fell 40 rupees, to 28,700 rupees per ten grams at Delhi's bullion market today, on weak demand from jewelers. Silver declined 50 rupees, to 40,400 rupees per kilo, on reduced off-take by industrial units and coin makers.Silver coins remained unchanged at 71,000 rupees for buying 100 pieces. Overseas, gold rose 0.1 percent to 1,173 dollars an ounce.
