In the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the Indian Men's Hockey team will begin its campaign today. In their opening Group-B match, they will take on arch-rivals Pakistan at 10 AM Indian Time. The Indian Women's team has played twice so far. They had lost against Wales before winning against Malaysia yesterday.

In Weightlifting, India's Sathish Sivalingam is now figuring in the Men's 77 kg category. He will be looking to give India its fifth medal. India has won 4 medals, so far – 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze – and all have come in Weightlifting. Gold were won by Mirabai Chanu and Sanjita Chanu, Silver by Gururaja and Bronze by Deepak Lather.

Also today, Indian athletes will be seen in action in Boxing, Badminton, Squash, Cycling and Swimming among other events. India is currently 5th in the medals tally. Australia is at the top, with England second and Canada third.
