In Assam, the newly-elected Congress legislators are meeting in Guwahati tomorrow to elect their leader formally. AIR Guwahati Correspondent reports, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is likely to be elected unanimously as the new Congress Legislature Party leader in the Assembly.Gogoi said, the new Government in the State is to take oath before 19th of this month.The Congress swept the Assembly elections with convincing majority by winning 78 of 126 seats. The All India United Democratic Front emerged as the second largest party in the Assembly with 18 seats. The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) won almost all the 12 seats in the Bodo belt. The Trinamool Congress managed to open its account in the State by winning the Hajo Assembly constituency. The Asom Gana Parishad bagged 10 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party five . The Left parties and the Nationalist Congress failed to open their account. Two seats went to Independents.
