Gogoi meets Krishna over reports of diversion of Brahmaputra river

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today met External Affairs Minister S M Krishna in New Delhi over the reports of diversion of Brahmaputra river by China . Mr Gogoi reportedly urged him to take up the issue with China. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Gogoi had expressed concern over the reported Chinese plan to divert Brahmaputra as it will affect Assam's agricultural economy. Mr Krishna had yesterday said his mnistry was seeking more details from China on these reports. The Brahmaputra, which enters India from Tibet, is considered the lifeline of Assam.
