Gogoi directs his Ministers to prepare report cards on Devt works

The Assam Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi has directed all his Ministers to prepare their report cards against respective departments involving development and economy during the ruling of the Congress-led Government in the State. The deadline for submitting the report cards at the Chief Minister’s Office has been fixed on 3rd July next. The Chief Minister Mr. Gogoi earlier announced that he will publish a White Paper on the State’s economy and development and it will be tabled in the Monsoon Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly beginning on 12th of the next month. The step was taken in view of demand of the opposition leader Mr. Chandra Mohan Patowary at a press meet in Guwahati. Mr. Patowary had criticized the State Government of misusing funds meant for development and alleged corruption in several departments pointing at some ministers. According to official sources, the White Paper is likely to be tabled in the Assembly on 14th July and a discussion on it will be taken up in the House on the next day. The Chief Minister will reply on the opposition queries on 16th July, before adjournment of the Assembly Session sine die. <br/>
