Goa Revolution Day celebrated today

<span style="color: #222222;">Goa Revolution Day is being celebrated today. On this day in 1946, freedom fighter Dr Ram Manohar Lohia had given a clarion call to Goans to fight for the state's liberation from Portuguese rule during a speech at Margao in South Goa. <br />”<br />”The speech provided a fillip to the Goan liberation movement, with the state finally being liberated in 1961 after around 450 years of Portuguese rule.<br />”<br />”At the state-level programme this morning, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant paid tribute at the Martyrs’ Memorial, Azad Maidan in Panaji. He asked students to appreciate and draw inspiration from Goa’s liberation struggle. <br />”<br />”The Chief Minister said the state government plans to set up a gallery in Panaji to highlight the struggles and achievements of Goa’s liberation movement through various media including films.</span><br />
