In Goa, 90 nominations out of 555 have been rejected on scrutiny from 38 constituencies out of 40.While the scrutiny of nominations from two constituencies namely Navelim and Benaulim is yet to be completed. In all 317 candidates including 45 women candidates have filed their nominations. The state has witnessed a record number of nominations this time.Goa has three national recognised parties namely Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, and Nationalist Congress Party and one state recognised Party namely Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party. Rest of the parties are registered but not recognised. The ECI has recently withdrawn the recognition of Save Goa Front.
