Goa Police today filed an FIR against Tarun Tejpal, editor-in-chief and publisher of Tehelka news magazine. The FIR accuses Tejpal of attempt to rape and outraging the modesty of a woman. Our Panaji correspondent reports the state Police have sent a team to Delhi to interrogate Tejpal.

Minister of State for Home Affairs RPN Singh has said that his ministry has asked to Goa Government to provide details in Tarun Tejpal case. Addressing a press conference in Jaipur Mr. Singh said that after receiving details from Goa government appropriate action will be taken by the government.

Meanwhile, Tarun Tejpal offered to extend the fullest cooperation to the police but at the same time said he had already issued an apology for the alleged misconduct as demanded by the victim.
