Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will not be available tomorrow for the beginning of the budget session of the state assembly due to illness. <br/><br/>Mr Parrikar, who holds the finance portfolio, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai for an inflamed pancreas. <br/><br/>Speaker of Goa legislative assembly Pramod Sawant has confirmed his absence for tomorrow. <br/><br/>Speaking to AIR, Mr Sawant said that further course of action for assembly proceedings will be determined in a meeting of the assembly's business advisory committee tomorrow.<br/><br/>Deputy speaker of the Goa legislative assembly Michael Lobo told AIR that in the case of prolonged unavailability of the chief minister due to illness, the committee may consider curtailing the budget session to a few days. <br/><br/>He added that in such a scenario, transport and PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar would table the budget by virtue of being the senior most member of the ruling coalition after Mr Parrikar. <br/><br/>On Saturday, the Goa chief minister's office had stated that the CM is under monitoring for his inflamed pancreas at a hospital in Mumbai.
