Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today surprised Opposition Congress by attending the Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour. Mr.Parrikar, who is a member of the Rajya Sabha, was welcomed by treasury benches with thumping of desks. However, when rose to speak, he was disrupted by Congress, which had given a substantive motion to discuss the government formation in Goa. Several Congress members had trooped into the well of the House raising slogans.<br/><br/>In his brief interaction, Mr Parrikar thanked Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari, Deputy Chairman P J Kurien and the House for supporting him when he was Defence Minister. He thanked Digvijaya Singh because he was roaming around in Goa when BJP was able to form the government in Goa.<br/><br/>Our Correspondent reports that the substantive motion, moved by Digvijaya Singh is under examination of the Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari. Mr Singh has been raising the issue repeatedly to know the status of the motion.
