Goa celebrates Liberation Day

Goa Chief Minister Mr. Digambar Kamat today called upon the people of the state to work unitedly to uproot terrorism from the country. <br/><br/>Addressing people of the state on the 48th anniversary of its liberation Mr. Kamat said the state has achieved a phenominal progress in all the spheres and appealed the people to still work hard to make Goa an Ideal state in the country. <br/><br/>He cautioned the people to be careful of the communal forces trying to divide the people and appealed not to fall prey to the assuarances of such people.<br/><br/>Earlier the Chief Minister reviewed the parade and took salute and presented awards to those excelled in various fields, at an impressive function held at the parade grounds at Campal at Panaji this morning.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports several functions are organised all over the state to mark the 48th anniverary of the liberation of the state.<br/><br/>Goa was liberated from the 450 years or Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961.<br/>
