In Goa, the authorities have begun issuing notices to history sheeters to ensure free and fair polling during the assembly elections on the third of March. The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Margaon in South Goa on Tuesday issued notices to history sheeters in Salcete Taluka in south Goa district. According to official sources, notices were being served through four police stations in Margaon,Maina- Curtorim, Colva and Cuncolim. Sources said, every police station has sent a report of history sheeters residing in their jurisdiction and that a show cause notices were being served on them. Our correspondent reports, each history sheeter will be asked to execute an interim bond of Rs. 5000/- stating that they will not involve in any illegal activities.India gifted medical equipments to District Hospital in Sri Lanka India today gifted medical equipments worth 29 million Sri Lankan Rupees to the District Hospital in Kilinochchi. External Affairs Minister SM Krishna today handed over the medical equipment to the refurbished hospital on his maiden visit to Kilinochchi, the formeradministrative capital of the LTTE. AIR correspondent reports, Mr. Krishna was accorded a traditional welcome by the hospital authorities. 79 schools which have been repaired with Indian assistance were also handed over to the authorities for making themfunctional. Later in the afternoon, the External Affairs minister will also hand over the first set of houses to the war displaced civilians at Ariyalai in Jaffna. AIR correspondent reports, 10,000 bicycles will also be distributed to the war displaced civilians in the Northern Province.
