The process of counting of votes in the Goa Assembly Elections will begin at 8 o’ clock this morning. The process has been initiated in Panaji for twenty three constituencies belonging to the North Goa district while that of remaining constituencies in the South Goa district is being held in Margaon.
The counting is being conducted in presence of the representatives of candidates and the micro-observers. All the results are expected to be declared till late in the afternoon. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the counting along with video-graphy and stringent security measures have been put up around the counting centres both in Panaji and Margaon.
The deployment of the innovative Poll Monitoring System (PMS) in all the 40 Assembly Constituencies of was another distinguishing feature this time. It was the first such occasion in the electoral history of the country.
