In Goa, 38 MLAs cast their vote in the election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat on Friday at the secretariat. <br/><br/>State BJP president Vinay Tendulkar is the candidate from the ruling coalition, which also includes Goa Forward Party (GFP), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and independents.'<br/><br/>Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Shantaram Naik is the opposition candidate.<br/><br/>In the 40-member Goa assembly, Congress has 16 MLAs, BJP has 12, MGP and GFP three each, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has one while three are independent. By-elections for two vacant seats would be conducted soon.<br/><br/>The result is scheduled to be announced later on Friday.
