In Goa, several functions were organised all over the state to mark the occasion. The main state level function was held at Campal in Panaji where the Governor, Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu unfurled the tricolour, inspected the parade and addressed the people of the state. Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the people to take a strong note of the sinister designs of the enemies of the nation from within and outside. School students performed a colourful cultural programme.
