Global meet on Indian space industry in November

Indian Space Research Organisation and trade body FICCI are organising an International Seminar on Indian Space Programme to improve interaction with the industry. <br/><br/>The Seminar to be organised in New Delhi on November 20 and 21 will discuss trends and opportunities for Industry in this field. <br/><br/>Providing details on the seminar in a Press conference in Bengaluru today, the Chairman of ISRO, A S Kiran Kumar said, ISRO is planning to increase the frequency of satellite launch from the existing 8 to 10 per year to 18 annually. <br/><br/>To increase the supply chain and pace of launch, ISRO will tap available capacities in the Industry and academic institutions. <br/><br/>The Chairman added that ISRO also wants to support Indian Industry to improve their competitiveness in global market. He disclosed that ISRO is supporting a start-up company that has developed a new kind of satellite propulsion thruster. <br/><br/>He informed that a proposal is mooted to have a joint venture with an Industry group to launch PSLV during the 2020-25 timeframe.<br/>
